Gill baby care advisor and mum

My own experience of being a mum has been so rewarding that although I give mums baby care advice, I hope my genuine enthusiasm for motherhood shines through. I love all the fascinating stages of a baby’s growth, so I try and encourage other mums to learn as much as they can about their baby’s development.

My top tips

  • A calming bath, feed and bedtime routine can help towards a more settled evening for you all. Singing a lullaby to your baby as part of this can be really soothing.
  • Look after yourself before the baby comes along – try to get as much prepared as possible as you won’t have the time afterwards.
  • Playing with your baby is so important – it will help them to develop and can be lots of fun! Remember to choose the right toys for their age though.

About me

I thought that all the fuss people made of me when I was pregnant was great. I really loved everything about being pregnant, especially all the stages of development they go through.

Children do go through lots of funny little phases as they get older, so expect the unexpected. For instance, my eldest insisted on going to bed in her Wellington boots for a while!
